Kama Sutra: A Tale of Love is a 1996 Indian English-language historical romance film directed by Mira Nair. It takes its title from the ancient Indian text, the Kama Sutra. 

The film stars Rekha, Indira Varma, and Naveen Andrews in lead roles. The Film got banned in India due to depiction of many sexual scenes that created controversy all over.

Ek Chhoti Si Love Story is a story of 15-year-old Boy Aditya and his voyeuristic love for his nameless neighbour (Manisha Koirala).

It focuses on Tanya’s (Ishaa Koppikar) obsessive relationship with Sapna (Amrita Arora), especially after Sapna starts dating Rahul (Aashish Chaudhary).

 

 

6. Aastha

 

Aastha: In the Prison of Spring is a 1997 Bollywood film directed by Basu Bhattacharya. The film stars Rekha, Om Puri, Navin Nischol and Daisy Irani in the main roles.

In the movie, Rekha had the controversial role of a married woman who turns into a prostitute, which was severely criticized by the audience. The film went on to receive both critical acclaim and commercial success. 

The movie is remarkable for its explicit love scenes.

 

 

 

7. Mastram

 

Mastram is a 2014 Bollywood fictional biography film directed by Akhilesh Jaiswal starring Rahul Bagga and Tara Alisha Berry.

The film is about an aspiring writer turning into an full-fledged pornographic writer. The Film is inspired by the anonymous author of popular pulp fiction and sex stories in Hindi known by Mastram. These books sold at railway station stalls and small roadside and pavement shops in North India through the 1980s and 90s.

 

 

8. Sins

 

The Movie is based on news story about a Kerala priest sentenced to death on sexual harassment and murder charges.

Film has a few controversial topless scenes due to which the movie received an A certificate from the censor board of India. The film depicting a Catholic priest romantically involved with a young woman.

Film was protested against by those that felt it was a negative portrayal of Catholicism and indecent. Catholic Secular Forum filed a public interest litigation to stall its release but the court cleared the film. 

The film depicts the unconventional love cum passionate affair of a young girl with an otherwise older priest.

 

 

 

9. Bandit Queen

 

Bandit Queen is a 1994 critically acclaimed Indian biographical film based on the life of Phoolan Devi.

The Film got banned in India due to depiction of nudity and extreme rape scenes. The film won the National Film Award for Best Feature Film in Hindi, Filmfare Critics Award for Best Movie and Best Direction for that year. 

The film was selected as the Indian entry for the Best Foreign Language Film at the 67th Academy Awards. 

 

 

 

10. Julie

 

Julie is an Indian Hindi erotic film produced by N.R.Pachisia and directed by Deepak Shivdasani. The film stars Neha Dhupia in the Lead. The Film depicts various hot scenes that created buzz for the Film.
